Markets and supermarkets in Pleiku: where and when

For one-stop shopping, go to Co.opmart Pleiku at 21 Cách Mạng Tháng 8, open 7 am–10 pm daily. WinMart at 33–35 Hai Bà Trưng, inside the shopping-centre complex, is open 7 am–9:30 pm. The central market runs in daytime only, and the big GO! Pleiku hypermarket is still a project, due to open in 2027.

Shopping in Pleiku has two rhythms: supermarkets and daytime market stalls by day, and a wholesale vegetable market that has moved into a car park at night. Old web posts still talk about a “Pleiku night market”, so this page gives you current addresses and hours to save you a wrong trip.

Supermarkets: Co.opmart and WinMart

Only two supermarkets are worth the ride. Co.opmart is the one for a big shop, and WinMart is handy if you are already by the central market. We recommend Co.opmart as your default. Both open at 7 am, while the central market opens earlier, at 6 am, so for a pre-work shop go to the market.

Co.opmart Pleiku

Co.opmart is the one-stop shop, and you can order by phone on (0269) 2.222.400. It does not open until 7 am.

• What is there: a Kidzone play area, gift wrapping and party orders. Members get home delivery.

• Returns: you can return goods within 15 days, or 30 days for Platinum members, counted from the date on the receipt.

WinMart Pleiku

If you are around the central market, WinMart lets you do the stalls and the supermarket in one trip. It shuts at 9:30 pm, earlier than Co.opmart.

• What is there: it sits in the same complex as the central market, so you can visit both together.

Tip: if the supermarkets have shut and you still want a snack, head to the Small Market night street (Phố đêm Chợ Nhỏ), open 6 pm to midnight.

The central market: go in the morning

The central market (Trung tâm thương mại Pleiku) is at 49 Ngô Gia Tự, Diên Hồng ward, open 6 am–6 pm daily. Locals buy dry goods, clothes, shoes, cosmetics, rice and sugar inside the hall, while poultry, fresh food and vegetables are sold just outside it. It has about 500 stalls and lots.

Go with a little patience. After nearly 30 years the building is worn: the roof, ceiling and beams are badly damaged, and in heavy rain water drips onto the stalls. Of the almost 900 traders who first registered, a little over 400 are still trading, mostly in the morning. A rebuild has been on the investment list for nearly 13 years without starting. Pick a dry morning and arrive before noon for the most stalls.

Small neighbourhood markets

Not every market runs all day, which catches newcomers out. Bà Định market (in Diên Hồng ward) is a morning-only market. The field market on Nguyễn Hữu Thọ street (Ngó village, now Hội Phú ward) is afternoon-only, from about 3 pm. The market in the alley beside 626 Lê Duẩn also runs in the afternoon.

The charm is homegrown produce. The field market sells fish, eels, shrimp, pork, chicken and garden vegetables from Ngó villagers, and Bà Định has vegetables and fruit from Pleiku Roh village and villages in Ia Dêr commune. Sellers bring only enough for one session and leave nothing for the next day, so shopping early means fresh food.

Phù Đổng Market (Chợ Phù Đổng)

Chợ Phù Đổng is a handy local market if you stay on the Phù Đổng side and would rather not go into the centre.

Thống Nhất market, at 192 Phạm Văn Đồng, Thống Nhất ward, opens 5:30 am–11 pm daily. It is the closest one if you are on the Thống Nhất side.

The night market today

If someone tells you the “Pleiku night market” is on Nguyễn Thiện Thuật street, that is out of date. The night vegetable market there stopped trading on 1 April 2024 and moved to a temporary market in the car park on Nguyễn Văn Linh street.

The temporary market comes alive at night: on ordinary days it is busy from 11 pm, and before Tết (Lunar New Year) shoppers arrive from 9 pm. Besides vegetables and fruit there are fresh flowers. Go if you need a lot of vegetables or want to see it at its busiest; for a few items, a supermarket is easier.

The Small Market night street runs from 6 pm to midnight daily.

The stalls line the Hội Phú stream, from Nguyễn Lương Bằng to the motor bridge by alley 42 Lê Lợi, and the street is closed to vehicles from 6 pm to midnight, so it works as a pedestrian street. Expect it to be quiet: it opened with 44 stalls and only about six to eight remain, because locals like to ride right up to where they eat and do not want to park and walk. GO! Pleiku: not built yet

You will see GO! Pleiku online, but it is only a project. On 5 October 2026 the Gia Lai People’s Committee handed over the investment certificate to Central Retail Vietnam. The site is at 27 Nguyễn Văn Cừ, Diên Hồng ward, with a floor area of nearly 15,000 m², more than 40,000 products and over 600 billion VND of capital. The province asks for construction to start in the fourth quarter of 2026 and opening in 2027. Until then, your options are Co.opmart and WinMart.
